Highlights
The applicant’s main clinical focus should include breast surgery with knowledge of management of benign and malignant breast disease including breast-conserving surgery, nipple and skin-sparing mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and axillary node dissection.

The successful candidate will participate in a multidisciplinary breast clinics and should be committed to excellence in quality care, patient safety, and recruitment of patients to clinical trials. A focused research effort related to the care of breast cancer patients is preferred. The candidate will actively participate in the education of general surgery residents, fellows, and medical students. Interest in clinical and translational research is also encouraged and supported by a robust infrastructure.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Comprehensive Cancer Center has a team of over 400 physicians and researchers focused on preventing, detecting, treating, and surviving cancer. Our clinicians represent all aspects of cancer care including those in the fields of Medical Oncology and Hematology, Gynecologic Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology and Colon and Rectal Surgery.

Training and/or Experience Required
Candidates should be board certified/eligible, a graduate of an SSO/ASBrS-approved breast surgery fellowship program, and eligible for an unrestricted State of North Carolina medical license.
