Atrium Health’s Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, part of Atrium Health, is currently seeking a Heart Failure & Transplant Physician to join their established practice in Charlotte, NC. We provide care to patients across 6 locations. Our team includes 11 advanced heart failure cardiologists, 4 transplant/MCS surgeons, 18 APPs, 3 clinical pharmacists, 4 social workers, 6 transplant/VAD coordinators, 5 nurse navigators, 9 heart failure nurses, and various other clerical support staff

  • Advanced treatment options include LVADs and the total artificial heart; additional surgical and minimally invasive options including bypass surgery, heart valve surgery, and implantable heart devices.
  • The practice is a strong, multidisciplinary team which provides comprehensive patient care with excellent outcomes for the transplant and VAD patients.
  • Top 15 center for Heart Transplant volume in the country with robust durable LVAD program 
  • Inpatient, outpatient, virtual care, and cath lab 
  • Some of the best survival rates in the nation and the first center in the Carolinas to transplant a total artificial heart.
  • Robust clinical research program with opportunities to participate. Abstracts and publications are encouraged.
Training and/or Experience Required
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Advance Heart Failure/Transplant.
  • Eager to work in a growing, high-volume practice.
  • Interested in both outpatient and inpatient care (12 outpatients/day and 25-40 inpatient/day)
  • Primary Transplant weeknight and weekend call is approximately 1:6. Minimal general call responsibility with APP as front line.
  • Optional: Able to perform right heart catheterizations and RV biopsies. Interest in Cardiovascular Critical Care.
