Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, a part of Atrium Health, is currently seeking a board-eligible/board-certified Electrophysiologist to join the existing faculty at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.  

Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute is one of the Southeast's largest cardiac and vascular programs providing the highest quality care available to patient with cardiovascular disease throughout North and South Carolina. Sanger Heart & Vascular employs more than 120 physicians in a network of more than 25 locations to provide the highest quality care available to patient with cardiovascular disease. Sanger has more than 50 years of experience in providing comprehensive acute and chronic cardiovascular services, including the region's only heart transplant center and pediatric heart surgery program. The most advanced EP procedures are performed at SHVI including epicardial VT ablation, external beam radiation VT ablation, complex lead extraction, and all types of device implants.  

Highlights
  • Consists of 12 EP physicians and 12 EP APPs across 3 primary hospitals in the Charlotte metro region; APPs serve as first line of defense for call. 
  • Physician call rotation includes 1:5 weekend coverage.  
  • Schedule includes approximately 3 days per week in the EP lab doing procedures and 1-2 days per week in clinic.  
  • This physician will primarily practice at the 1,000+ bed Carolinas Medical Center hospital. Most physicians in the group do some outreach clinic at other locations, and some work at more than one of the 3 Atrium hospitals in the Charlotte region, all within a 30-minute drive of each other. 
Training and/or Experience Required
Ideal Candidates Will Be:  
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in cardiovascular disease and electrophysiology.
  • Interested in a busy procedural and outpatient practice in a growing hospital with a new hospital tower being built. 
  • Competent in a variety of procedural skills, including ablations and device implants. 
  • Seeking a clinical opportunity in an academically minded practice using the latest cutting-edge equipment.
  • Having some clinical research interest is preferred.
