Highlights
Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute – CMC, part of Atrium Health, seeks an experienced Non-Invasive Adult Cardiologist to join their esteemed practice in Charlotte, NC. This unique opportunity allows for collaboration with a nationally recognized leader in cardiovascular care within a hybrid (academic/private) quaternary care hospital and practice setting. 

• The highly regarded HCM center is acknowledged as a Center of Excellence by the HCMA. It benefits from in-clinic assistance from a geneticist, pharmacist, social worker, and dietitian, complemented by additional support from advanced practice providers. The center boasts a thriving surgical myectomy program handling a high volume of cases, along with substantial expertise in interventional procedures like alcohol septal ablations. Moreover, there is a robust research department with significant experience in both industry-led and investigator-led research endeavors. 

• Moreover, the practice boasts well-established teams specializing in open-heart surgery, transplant/MCS, and vascular surgery, all complemented by expert critical care services. 

• Among the most renowned Sports Cardiology Centers nationally, with significant engagement and leadership roles across the American College of Cardiology, NFL, NBA, MLB, and various other professional and collegiate athletic organizations. 

• Additional specialized programs encompass adult congenital heart disease, structural heart, CHIP/CTO, cardio-oncology, women’s cardiology, preventive cardiology, aortic disease, and more. 

• Inpatient cardiovascular care is supported by APPs with 24/7 APP coverage (no in-house call) 

• Teaching opportunities with medical students, Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine residents and NP/PA (APP) fellows 

• Academic appointment available through Wake Forest University Medical School 

About the practice: 

The Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute (SHVI) has more than 110 physicians in a network of greater than 25 locations to provide the highest quality care available to patients with cardiovascular disease throughout North and South Carolina. • SHVI has over 50 years of experience in providing world-class, comprehensive acute and chronic cardiovascular services including the region’s only heart transplant center and a top 25 pediatric heart surgery program and has been recognized by IBM Watson as one of the best Heart Hospitals in the nation. 
Training and/or Experience Required
The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience. Additional interest and experience Sports Cardiology is highly desired. Candidates should have ambition and the desire to join a practice that values high-quality patient care, continuous improvement, and wellness. Additionally, candidates who have a track record in research, leading innovative initiatives, and delivering presentations at the national level are preferred. 

Qualified candidates should be:

 • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease 

• Committed to delivering patient-centered, value-based cardiovascular care in a quaternary care environment. 

• Proficient in echocardiography, including transesophageal echocardiography. 

• Competence in additional modalities such as cardiac CTA or cardiac MRI is beneficial. 

• Willingness to engage in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Practice Highlights: 

• Collaborative environment with a diverse team of general, interventional, EP, and HF/Transplant cardiologists (33 at CMC and 85 in group)
