Hugh Chatham Health is an 81 bed acute care hospital located in Elkin, NC. Established in 1931, Hugh Chatham Health supports a growing medical group across multiple counties and locations throughout the Yadkin Valley and surrounding areas, delivering high quality, patient centered care while maintaining strong ties to the communities it serves.
Wilkes Medical Center, located in Wilkesboro (North Wilkesboro), North Carolina, is a 130 bed acute care community hospital. The hospital has served the region for more than 70 years and provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services while offering the resources and clinical support of a nationally recognized academic medical center. Wilkes Medical Center delivers high quality, compassionate care close to home for patients across northwestern North Carolina.
Primary site: Hugh Chatham Health, Elkin, NC
Secondary site: Wilkes Medical Center, in Wilkesboro, NC (limited coverage, may increase as practice continues to grow)
Position Overview
Inpatient service averages 1-2 days per week, depending on coverage needs and scheduled
Overall clinical responsibilities are on average 4.5 days total per week plus 0.5 day administrative time
Optional: 4.5 days each week on average of outpatient clinic only
Imaging responsibilities will be individualized based on Section needs and candidate expertise.
Team based care model using provider pods that include MDs and APPs; APPs manage the majority of return patient visits for physicians within the pod.
Robust clinical infrastructure, including Epic, Dragon dictation, and DAX ambient documentation tools.
Inpatient Service at Wake Forest Baptist
Optional, based on candidate’s preference, maximum of 4-5 weeks per year
Call & Weekend Coverage
There is currently no call responsibility associated with Hugh Chatham Health. As the hospital becomes more fully integrated with Advocate Health and the practice continues to grow, a future call component may be introduced.
Remote call for Wilkes Medical Center one weekend per month on average
