The Department of Anesthesiology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking Critical Care Anesthesiologists. We are looking for faculty who are committed to excellence in critical care, perioperative medicine, and academic service.

Highlights
In this role, you will provide comprehensive perioperative and intensive care to critically ill patients across our adult ICUs, operating rooms, and procedural areas within Atrium Health Wake Forest medical centers. Responsibilities include managing complex critical care cases, delivering high-quality anesthesia care, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes. Faculty participate in both general and critical care call schedules and may serve as attending physicians in both operating room and ICU settings, including independent faculty assignments.

In addition to clinical duties, you will be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows through bedside instruction, didactics, simulation, and mentorship. Faculty focus on outstanding clinical care, teaching excellence, and meaningful contributions to departmental and institutional service—including quality improvement initiatives and program development.  
Training and/or Experience Required
  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree.
  • ABA board certification or board eligibility in Anesthesiology.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Critical Care Anesthesiology fellowship.
  • Eligibility for North Carolina medical licensure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care, teaching, and academic medicine.
