Wake Forest Emergency Providers, affiliated with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Wake Forest School of Medicine, delivers high-quality emergency care across Hospital Emergency Departments and Free-Standing Emergency Departments throughout the Greater Charlotte Market and Central and Northwest North Carolina. Our physicians practice in settings that offer a strong sense of community and teamwork, while benefiting from the clinical resources, academic collaboration, and innovation of a leading nonprofit health system.

  • Watauga Medical Center (117-bed hospital) with a 20-bed Emergency Department
  • Cannon Memorial Hospital (Critical Access Hospital) with a 10-bed Emergency Department and 10 inpatient beds

  • Physician- led scheduling:
    • Watauga: 8–9-hour shifts
    • Cannon: 12-hour shifts
  • Annual ED Volume:
    • Watauga: ~25,000 visits
    • Cannon: ~8,500 visits
  • 7 full-time physicians; 2 full-time Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
  • In-House Coverage (24/7):
    • OB, Hospitalists, Pediatrics
    • Surgery and Orthopedics
    • Cardiology with PCI & STEMI capabilities

Training and/or Experience Required
  • Emergency Medicine Board Certified / Board Eligible
  • North Carolina Medical License (or eligibility)
