Highlights

Atrium Health is seeking a BC/BE Hospitalist Physician to join our team in Pineville, North Carolina. This is a swing shift position (2:00 PM – 12:00 AM) designed to support peak admission volume, optimize patient flow, and enhance cross-coverage during high-acuity evening hours.

Position Highlights

  • Schedule: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM (swing shift)
  • Shift Model: 7 on / 7 off (or equivalent block schedule)
  • Setting: Acute care hospital environment
  • Team Structure: Collaborative hospitalist group with APP support
  • Role Focus:
    • Admissions and cross-coverage during high-volume hours
    • Coordination of care with ED and specialty teams
    • Supporting patient throughput and discharge optimization

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care for hospitalized patients
  • Perform admissions, evaluate new patients, and manage acute medical conditions
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team, including nursing, case management, and specialists
  • Ensure timely documentation and efficient communication with referring providers
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and system-wide care standards
Training and/or Experience Required
  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork
