Role Highlights
- 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM (12‑hour nights)
- Dedicated night‑shift hospitalist role
- Primarily focus is admissions as cross coverage is provided 9PM-5AM
- Strong nursing, respiratory therapy, and tele‑specialty support
- Community hospital environment with manageable volume
Clinical Details
- Average Night Census: ~25–35 total patients on the hospitalist service
- Night Admissions: Typically 4–8 per shift
- ICU: 10‑bed ICU, open model with eICU/tele‑critical care support
- Procedures:
- No routine procedures required, optional
- Occasional procedures (e.g., lines, simple airway support) may occur but are supported by eICU and rarely needed
- Rapid response participation expected; codes supported by ED/RT
- Nocturnist run code blues with support from ED/RT
- MD/DO, Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- North Carolina medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Comfort managing a small open ICU with tele‑ICU backup
- New graduates welcome
