Highlights

Atrium Health Stanly is seeking a full‑time Nocturnist to provide independent, high‑quality inpatient care at a supportive community hospital within the Atrium Health system.

Role Highlights

  • 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM (12‑hour nights)
  • Dedicated night‑shift hospitalist role
  • Primarily focus is admissions as cross coverage is provided 9PM-5AM
  • Strong nursing, respiratory therapy, and tele‑specialty support
  • Community hospital environment with manageable volume

Clinical Details

  • Average Night Census: ~25–35 total patients on the hospitalist service
  • Night Admissions: Typically 4–8 per shift
  • ICU: 10‑bed ICU, open model with eICU/tele‑critical care support
  • Procedures:
    • No routine procedures required, optional
    • Occasional procedures (e.g., lines, simple airway support) may occur but are supported by eICU and rarely needed
    • Rapid response participation expected; codes supported by ED/RT
    • Nocturnist run code blues with support from ED/RT



Training and/or Experience Required
  • MD/DO, Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • North Carolina medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • Comfort managing a small open ICU with tele‑ICU backup
  • New graduates welcome
