Description & Requirements

AHWFB Telehospitalist Physician will be responsible for patient care through the Hospital @ Home program and other innovative telemedicine that comes through this program. Hospital @ Home program provides virtual acute care to inpatient and ambulatory patients and is supported by paramedics, nurse navigators, and other ancillary staff. Telehospitalist physician will be expected to provide supervision to credentialed APPs who are providing care to patients through the program.

1. Provide medical care to patients.

2. Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of the human internal organs.

3. Examine patients,

4. Conduct/order diagnostic tests,

5. Analyze the results and prescribe indicated treatment therapies including medications and Physical

Therapies.

6. Consult with other physicians, when needed.

7. Assist in patient education and goal setting.
Training and/or Experience Required
2 years of experience as a hospitalist. Outpatient experience in addition to 2 years as a hospitalist is a plus.

MD or equivalent degree and License to practice in NC.

Must maintain a DEA license.

Should be able to get credentialed at one of the AHWFB hospitals for inpatient care.

Should maintain IP hospital medicine practice.

Treats all members of the patient care team with respect and dignity.

Complies with all policies and protocols of H@H and AHWFB.

Attends H@H business meetings regularly.

Brings a problem-solving attitude and is ready for ongoing change of a program built for flexibility.

Provides patient-centered care with dignity and compassion.

Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.

Reports to work on time and as scheduled.

Attends annual review and performs departmental in-services.

Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.

Attends committee, CQI and management meetings, as appropriate.

Resolves staff concerns at the departmental level, utilizing the grievance process as required.
