This role offers a unique opportunity to practice acute inpatient medicine across multiple Atrium Health facilities while working from a remote setting. This position stands out due to its “virtual remote positions, strictly admissions, fast paced environment, great colleagues and supportive team.”
Schedule & Work Structure
7 on / 7 off
Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Rotation: Tuesday–Monday
Includes: Rotating weekends and holidays
Setting: Fully remote, inpatient admissions only
Call: None
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide virtual inpatient admission services across Atrium Health hospitals
Average 7–8 admissions per shift
No procedures required
No ICU responsibilities
Collaborate with a robust clinical support team including:
3 Day MDs + 1 Day APP
1 Swing MD + 1 Swing APP
2 Nocturnists + 5 APPs providing cross‑cover support
- Experience: 3–5 years inpatient medicine required (no new graduates)
- Preferred: Prior telemedicine experience
- Licensure: Active NC medical license
