We invite a Hematologist/Medical Oncologist to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts, inquisitive minds, and visionaries together in our Solid Tumor Oncology inpatient team at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Highlights
Our solid tumor oncology service is composed of a dedicated group of advanced practice providers supervised by a mix of a dedicated hospital-based medical oncologist and our outpatient solid tumor faculty. This service sees a wide range of oncologic disorders and complications from standard and novel therapies. 
The schedule is two weeks (14 days) per month with no overnight call. 
Provide solid tumor oncology consultation to patients and inpatient care to solid tumor patients admitted for inpatient chemotherapy. 
Clinical responsibilities include consults, admissions, discharges, teaching of medical students, supervising fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers, and coordination of patient and family care needs.
Administrative responsibilities include being a primary liaison between the hospital/other inpatient services and the oncology service line regarding inpatient oncology care.
The average census is approximately 20 patients with an average of 4 to 5 consults per day and about 4 patients per week receiving inpatient chemotherapy.
Team also includes an inpatient pharmacist and a nurse.

Training and/or Experience Required
Candidate should be eligible/board certified in hematology and/or medical oncology.
Candidate should have an interest in working with acutely ill oncology patients in an inpatient setting.
Candidate should enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team where education to teammates, students, patients, and families is valued.
