AHWFB Department of Medicine, Section on Hospital Medicine is seeking a Nocturnist with training in Internal Medicine/Family Medicine to join our dynamic inpatient team at Wilkes Medical Center, N. Wilkesboro, North Carolina. WMC has 130 licensed beds, including a 10-bed skilled nursing unit on campus.

Work in a Supportive & Collaborative Environment:   

As a Hospitalist within the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Health system, you will be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, case managers, specialists, and clinical pharmacists to ensure safe and effective patient care during hospital stays. Your role involves admitting patients, closely monitoring patient progress and making necessary treatment adjustments, and engaging in meaningful discussions with patients and their families about their care. 

Position Information: 

Full-time, clinical adjunct faculty position  
Primarily admitting responsibilities 
Perform perioperative management and pre-op risk assessments for orthopedic/ surgical patients 
Help with floor cross coverage from Virtual Hospitalist group
Strong support from medical and surgical specialties 
VCC covers ICU at nights
Respond to Rapid Responses and CODES 
Coordinating with Nursing Staff and responding to questions/concerns overnight 
Provide appropriate hand-off/sign-out at the conclusion of their shift to the day team  
Procedural skills not required 
EMR- EPIC

Training and/or Experience Required
Position Requirements:  

Graduate of an accredited medical school and ACGME-accepted Internal Medicine/Family Medicine residency program. 
Board Eligible or Board Certified in IM/FM. 
Active license to practice as physician from NC Medical Board. 
BLS/ACLS certification.
