Highlights
Why This Opportunity
This is a busy, well established clinical practice with a strong referral base and opportunities to participate in program growth and clinical innovation. Physicians benefit from a supportive, academically engaged health system and the ability to practice on a modern, expanding campus that serves as a regional cardiovascular hub.

Clinical Responsibilities – Inpatient Services
Physicians rotate between two inpatient services, including a 20 bed Cardiac Care Unit that is transitioning to a closed medical surgical cardiac unit. A significant portion of the patient population includes post surgical cardiac patients. Dedicated CCU weeks include management of critically ill cardiac patients, including mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, and advanced cardiac devices. CCU care is co managed with a 24/7 in house critical care team.

Service Schedule
Service coverage is provided in week long blocks. Physicians cover approximately 10 weeks per year, or about one week every 5–6 weeks.

Outpatient Clinic & Imaging
When not on service, physicians split time between clinic and imaging with intentional variety built into the schedule. Outpatient cardiology clinics are interspersed with imaging days. The primary clinic site is Atrium Health Cabarrus, with a secondary clinic location at Lake Norman. The schedule is designed to avoid back to back clinic days whenever possible. Imaging days rotate to provide variety and prevent long stretches in a single role.

Call & Weekend Coverage
Weekend coverage averages approximately 9 weekends per year, or about Q6. In house advanced practice provider coverage is available 24/7, significantly limiting overnight call burden. Imaging call is shared among imaging trained cardiologists and continues to improve as the group grows.
