Highlights
We are seeking a Full-Time Pediatric Hospitalist to join our Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine (PHM) Division in the Chicago suburbs through our unique community hospitalist track. This role offers a mixture of academic and community practice, with approximately 50% of clinical time spent at a teaching hospital and the remaining 50% at affiliated community hospitals.

Position Highlights
Advocate Children’s Hospital (50% of clinical time)
    • This position will entail coverage of our 46-bed Inpatient Unit (both resident-covered teaching and uncovered service), 10-bed Observation Unit (uncovered service), as well as our Nursery (resident-covered teaching service, no delivery) at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital / Advocate Children's Hospital in Park Ridge
    • The PHM Attending schedule is composed of available day, swing, and overnight shifts. Personal and professional requests along with divisional needs are taken into account to ensure an equitable split of these teaching and non-teaching shifts.
    • Moonlighting opportunities within the division frequently exist. Individual schedules are done on a quarterly basis; allowing for enhanced scheduling flexibility.
    • Once a member of our team, opportunities to be involved administratively (QI projects, Quality + Safety initiatives, pathway development, student/resident/PHM fellow education, etc.) will be available and required.
    • PHM fellowship or PHM board certification is not required at this time
    • Support medical education of pediatric residents and students
Community Hospitals – Sherman, Condell, Good Shepherd (50% of clinical time)
  • Staffed as 24-hour shifts with responsibilities include:
    • Coverage of unassigned healthy newborns in Level 1 nursery
    • Coverage of Level 2 nursery with neonatology on consult
    • Newborn readmission for phototherapy or feeding difficulty into the nursery
    • Attendance of high-risk deliveries with neonatology backup (delivery clinical competency and skill training provided)
    • ED consultations for pediatric patients as needed
    • Co-manage low volume adolescent post-surgical procedure patients (appendectomy, minor orthopedic surgery, tonsillectomy) with no comorbidities
    • At Advocate Good Shepherd – provide telehealth consultation for other Advocate Emergency Departments without PHM faculty on site
    • At Advocate Condell and Good Shepherd – supervise and educate MS-3 student from Rosalind Franklin University / Chicago Medical School on their core pediatric clerkship rotation
    • EMR
    • Be part of an integrated nationally recognized organization with physician-led medical group and embedded service line
    • Leverage access to DAX Copilot, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, streamlining clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review, editing, and signature
    • Experience an environment that provides safe and equitable care for all patients
