Pulmonary Disease - Critical Care Physician (multiple positions open)
Highlights
The Pulmonary Disease – Critical Care Physician in Green Bay, WI will provide out-patient and in-patient management of critically ill patients and perform examination, diagnosis,
medication, clinical management, and invasive and noninvasive therapy of diseases, disorders, illnesses, and injuries of the lungs and airways, such as pulmonary hypertension,
pneumonia, asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, sleep disorders, emphysema, and other complex disorders. Provide in-patient
and out-patient critical care, assessment, and consultative services to patients with life threatening conditions that may require sophisticated organ support, invasive monitoring, oxygen
therapy and/or mechanical ventilation. This includes hemodynamic instability, airway or respiratory compromise, acute renal failure, potentially lethal cardiac arrhythmias, or the cumulative effects of multiple organ failure. Utilize clinical evaluation and diagnostic techniques, such as pulmonary ventilation scans, bronchoscopy, pulmonary perfusion scans, thoracentesis, chest X-ray, electrocardiography (EKG, ECG), pulmonary angiography, as well as pulmonary function tests, including spirometry, gas diffusion tests, residual volume measurement, body plethysmography, inhalation challenge tests, and exercise stress tests, to analyze and diagnose medical condition(s) of patients. Treat pulmonary patients by prescribing or administering medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury of the lungs and airways. For critical care patients, analyze pre- and post-admission records, reports, test results and/or examination information to diagnose and assess medical condition(s) of patients and then treat patients by prescribing or administering medication, therapy, vaccination, or other specialized medical care. Record patient medical history during hospital admission and maintain close communication with referring physicians and refer patients to further medical specialists or specialized hospital services when necessary
Training and/or Experience Required
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Medical Degree (M.D.) or its foreign degree equivalent, completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine, completion of an accredited fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases/Critical Care, and possession of a State of Wisconsin medical license
