Description & Requirements

The Section on Hospital Medicine is seeking a physician leader with experience in operations, finance, and quality to serve as medical director of hospital medicine of at Davie Medical Center. The successful candidate will lead the Davie hospital medicine team and report to the section chief on hospital medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Health System.

Specific expectations for the position include but are not limited to the following:

Operations
• Create synergy and collaboration within Wake Forest Baptist Health System with regards to patient care
• Collaborate with the local Davie Medical Center leadership including (but not limited to) the President, CMO and CNO
• Collaborate with the section chief on hospital medicine and AVP, Clinical Operations
• Provide leadership and direction for the hospital medicine provider team at Davie Medical Center
• Develop effective communication with attending physicians, advanced practitioners, subspecialists, surgical colleagues, emergency room colleagues and primary care providers
• Develop and implement hospital medicine provider coverage model for 16-bed medical unit at Davie (to include Advanced Care beds)
• Oversight of DMC Advanced Care beds and partnering with the WFBH Critical Care shared service as well as Advanced ICU Care.

Training and/or Experience Required
Position Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited medical school and ACGME-accepted Internal Medicine residency program.
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
Active license to practice as physician from NC Med Board.
ACLS certification.
