Description & Requirements

The Department of Medicine, Section on Hospital Medicine at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist (AHWFB) is seeking academic-minded, team-oriented Hospitalists trained in Internal Medicine to join our growing and collaborative inpatient faculty at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center—our flagship academic hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

As an Academic Hospitalist, you will be part of a highly engaged, multidisciplinary care team focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. You’ll collaborate with consultants, nurses, pharmacists, case managers, and social workers in a setting that values teamwork and excellence.


You’ll also have robust opportunities to teach and mentor medical students and Internal Medicine residents; contribute to quality improvement, systems-based innovation, or clinical research; advance your own academic interests while shaping the next generation of physicians;  and participate in institutional initiatives focused on patient safety, throughput, and team culture.

Training and/or Experience Required
Position Requirements:
• MD or DO with board certification/eligibility in Internal Medicine
• Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure
• Commitment to collaborative, team-based care and the AHWFB mission and values
• ACLS certification required
• No procedural skills required
