- Illinois Masonic Medical Center is a Level I, 397-bed hospital in Chicago
- The unit comprises 22 beds, with an average daily census of 12-13 patients; preparations underway to relocate to a newly renovated space designed for optimal collaboration between nursing and therapy teams
- Staffing includes a robust team: an admissions coordinator, skilled Social Workers and Case Managers, Registered Nurses, rehabilitation technicians, and a full spectrum of therapy professionals
- Physicians in this unit will practice the full scope of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), working closely with specialists and therapists
- Procedures will include but not be limited to botulinum toxin injections, joint and trigger point injections, and other interventions
- The patient population served is notably diverse, with a 50-50 mix of neurodiagnostic cases—including brain injuries, strokes, and non-traumatic spinal cord injuries—and other conditions such as trauma, fractures, lower extremity amputations, and general debility
- Call responsibilities require coverage one weekend per month when fully staffed, with non-assigned weekends managed by hospitalists; this structure supports both patient continuity and physician work-life balance, while fostering a collaborative and experienced multidisciplinary team environment
- No current outpatient responsibilities, although opportunities exist to participate in an outpatient prosthetic clinic
- EPIC EMR
- Be part of an integrated nationally recognized organization with physician-led medical group and embedded service line
- Leverage access to DAX Copilot, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, streamlining clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review, editing, and signature
- Experience an environment that provides safe and equitable care for all patients
- Completion of an Accredited PM&R Residency Program
- Fellowship training welcome, not required
- Experience preferred, however all candidates will be considered
