Job Title: Cardiologist           


Highlights
Duties: The Cardiologist at Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation in Libertyville, IL will recognize, diagnose, treat and manage disorders and diseases of the cardiovascular system using invasive and noninvasive clinical evaluations and procedures including electrophysiology study (EPS), electrocardiogram (ECG), holtor monitor, echocardiogram (ECHO), angioplasty, brachytherapy, radiofrequent and alcohol ablation, cardiac catheterization (including rotobation, thrombectomy and valvuloplasty), septal closure, stenting and pacemaker placement.  Provide in-patient and out-patient cardiac care, assessment and consultative services to patients who present with diseases, disorders or injuries involving the heart and/or blood vessels via use of specialized imaging and diagnostic techniques and procedures in order to determine and verify the necessity of medical treatment, intervention and/or surgery, estimate possible risks to patients, determine the best course(s) of care, prescribe and administer medications and therapies as well as perform various mechanical interventions to correct deformities, repair injuries, prevent and/or cure diseases and improve cardiac function within patients. Study diagnostic images, records, and blood test results to aid in making diagnosis. Prescribe and administer medications and therapies and recommend dietary and activity programs. Requires 50% travel to additional Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation worksites in Libertyville, IL and Lake Villa, IL.



Training and/or Experience Required
Minimum Requirements: Medical Degree (M.D.) or its foreign degree equivalent, completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine, completion of an accredited fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and possession of a State of Illinois medical license.
