- The candidate should be comfortable with all aspects of the evaluation and management of benign and malignant diseases of the intestines, colon, rectum and anus including minimally invasive approaches of robotic and laparoscopic surgery. The Candidate should be comfortable with the care of complicated patients in an inpatient setting.
- Candidate will develop a broad community practice /colorectal presence at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist’s (AHWFB) new practice site in Greensboro as well as AHWFB High Point Medical Center (HPMC).
- Candidate will pursue increased market share of colon and rectal surgery within Guilford and Randolph Counties, NC (midstate, west of Durham). They will assist in marketing the AHWFB Colon and Rectal Surgery Program to community physicians and managed care organizations. With support of the institution, individual will develop relationships and community outreach to further market penetration as the enterprise expands into previously untargeted communities (i.e. Guilford County).
- Participate in a call structure to provide continuous care for our patients, working collaboratively with our Emergency Surgical Services
- Ensure high quality, patient centered care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Candidate will have a desire to teach and train learners and house staff on rotation as part of AHWFB training programs / Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
- Colorectal Surgery plays an integral part in the training of our General Surgery Residents as well as 3rd and 4th year Medical Students
- Candidate should be equipped and motivated to support and participate in the eventual development of a colorectal surgery fellowship within the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist system.
- Candidate will pursue academic collaborations within the division, institution, and enterprise.
- The candidate will be the fifth colorectal surgeon in the AHWFB colon and rectal practice. They will lead the colorectal presence in Guilford County.
- Candidate will be expected to participate in monthly division meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME accredited general surgical residency and colorectal surgery fellowship
- Board Certification or eligibility in colon and rectal surgery by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery (ABCRS)
- Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in North Carolina
