Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC, seeks a full-time, Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Transplant Hepatologist to join its expanding liver transplant program. As part of Advocate Health—the nation’s third largest nonprofit healthcare system—this role offers the opportunity to contribute to a leading pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology division, recognized as the largest in North Carolina and ranked #22 nationally by U.S. News & World Report.

The Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division at Levine Children’s Hospital comprises 15 physicians and 8 nurse practitioners, supported by a multidisciplinary team including nurses, dietitians, psychologists, social workers, research coordinators, and quality improvement specialists. The team provides more than 17,000 outpatient visits and 2,700 procedures annually. 

Liver transplantation services are provided in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), with UPMC surgeons working alongside local transplant surgeons at Levine Children’s Hospital. Pediatric transplant hepatologists coordinate closely with both surgical teams to ensure comprehensive medical care for transplant patients. In 2025, the growing program performed seven pediatric liver transplants.

Candidates should possess experience in liver transplantation and demonstrate a commitment to multidisciplinary patient care. A clinical faculty appointment with Wake Forest University School of Medicine is available, commensurate with experience.
