We invite Primary Care providers interested in Cancer Survivorship to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts, inquisitive minds and visionaries together in our Department of Supportive Oncology, Cancer Survivorship team at Atrium Health Levine Cancer in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Department of Supportive Oncology, under the direction of acclaimed pioneer Dr. Declan Walsh, is internationally recognized for its exemplary array of clinical services, robust medical education, and novel research. The department offers highly specialized, guideline concordant clinical care across 7 locations in the Greater Charlotte Market; and includes a team of physicians, advance practice clinicians, certified nurses, rehabilitative and mental health therapists, specialty dietitians, social workers, and integrative oncology professionals.
Highlights
This unique opportunity focuses on broad cancer survivorship care as defined by the NCI. Survivorship begins at the point of diagnosis and continues through treatment and beyond. Survivorship care includes addressing the physical, mental, emotional, social and financial effects of cancer and cancer treatment. The Survivorship provider will address symptom management, risk reduction and lifestyle interventions for adult survivors of cancer. Working within a multi-specialty department with colleagues in cancer rehabilitation, behavioral health, geriatrics and more, professional opportunities include collaborations and co-treatment, including strong support from registered dietitians, social workers, and nurses. The department provides opportunities for teaching, research, and leadership. 

Highlights:  
  • This is an outpatient onsite ambulatory setting, with no call or weekend clinic. There is capacity for some virtual clinical care. 
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays, no call. 
  • Multiple opportunities exist within the Department of Supportive Oncology and Levine Cancer to participate in committee work and education of medical and nursing students, residents and fellows.
  • The Department of Supportive Oncology consists of multiple specialized sections—integrative oncology, cancer survivorship, palliative medicine, nutrition, cancer rehabilitation, psycho-oncology, and research—each staffed by multidisciplinary providers focused on delivering comprehensive supportive care to patients with cancer.

Training and/or Experience Required

      BE/BC licensed Internal Medicine or Family Practice, MD or DO
