Hugh Chatham Health is seeking an experienced Nocturnist Physician to join our growing Hospital Medicine team in beautiful Elkin, North Carolina. This is an exceptional opportunity to practice in a community-focused rural healthcare setting while enjoying a highly desirable block schedule and the support of a respected regional health system. Hugh Chatham has an active need for a full-time nocturnist physician and is eligible to sponsor qualified visa candidates.
Position Highlights

- 7-on / 7-off schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight shifts
- Admit and manage hospitalized adult patients
- Respond to acute patient care needs, rapid responses, and medical emergencies
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff, specialists, and day-shift providers
- Coordinate transfers when higher levels of care are required
- Ensure thorough and effective handoff communication to the daytime team
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina
- ACLS certification required
- Prior Hospital Medicine experience preferred
- New graduates are not being considered for this opportunity
