Atrium Health – Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking an experienced Transplant Nephrologist to join our comprehensive, multidisciplinary kidney transplant program. This physician will serve as a core member of the transplant leadership and clinical care team, supporting both pre and posttransplant patient management, quality initiatives, and program growth.

This role is structured to support either an administrative-focused track or a general clinical track, based on program needs and physician experience.



Highlights
  • Provide outpatient transplant nephrology care across the continuum of kidney transplant care (pre-and post-transplant) with a primary focus post-transplant management
  • Play a key role in building and expanding a multi-disciplinary post kidney transplant clinic, including care model design, clinical workflows, and patient pathways
  • Serve as a clinical partner in quality oversight, outcomes monitoring, and regulatory readiness, with opportunities to shape program performance and sustainability
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary transplant team including surgeons, APPs, pharmacists, nurses, social work, and program leadership
  • Participate in kidney transplant selection meetings, multidisciplinary conferences, and program leadership discussions
  • transplant care practices
  • Limited participation in inpatient transplant nephrology coverage, as needed, to support continuity of care

Training and/or Experience Required
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certified or board eligible in Nephrology
  • Completion of an ASTaccredited Transplant Nephrology Fellowship (or equivalent experience)
  • Eligible for full and unrestricted medical licensure in the state of North Carolina
  • Eligible for appointment to the Atrium Health Medical Staff
  • Experience in kidney transplant care
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary transplant team
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to quality, safety, education, and regulatory compliance within a transplant program
  • Interest in contributing to program development, education, and clinical protocols preferred
