Highlights
  • We are seeking a full-time Abdominal Transplant Surgeon to help drive the continued growth and development of our kidney transplant program while also providing AV access surgery.
  • Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn is an 802-bed Level I Trauma Center, premier teaching institution, and major referral center for several specialties, including heart and kidney transplantation. 
  • The kidney transplant program currently performs approximately 30–35 transplants annually, maintains a waitlist of about 220 patients, and follows roughly 320 post-transplant outpatients.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a surgeon who is motivated to expand outreach efforts and help grow the program. 
  • You will join a supportive, collaborative, experienced team dedicated to the program
  • Excellent staff support and dedicated clinical space are in place to help you provide outstanding care to your patients.
  • Additional professional opportunities include participation in investigator-initiated research and clinical trials through our research institute, as well as teaching opportunities with medical students and residents rotating through the service. 
  • The procedural scope includes kidney transplantation, organ procurement, AV access surgery, and hepatobiliary surgery, with opportunities to perform minimally invasive, robotic, and laparoscopic procedures. A da Vinci Xi robotic platform is available.
  • EPIC EMR
  • Be part of an integrated nationally recognized organization with physician-led medical group and embedded service line
  • Leverage access to DAX Copilot, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, streamlining clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review, editing, and signature
  • Experience an environment that provides safe and equitable care for all patients

Training and/or Experience Required
  • Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program
  • Fellowshp training in abdominal transplant
  • Supportive, collaborative team player
  • Good communication skills
  • Empathetic, patient centered
