Atrium Health Neurosciences Institute-Neurology (NIN) is seeking a Faculty Physician with fellowship training and clinical expertise in Vascular Neurology/Stroke.   We invite team oriented Neurologists who possess an authentic compassion for high acuity and fast paced inpatient care to apply.

As part of the Department of Neurology at Atrium Health you will join a network of 90+ neurology providers that supports 15 care locations and 2 regional-based stroke interventional hubs across the greater Charlotte region. Atrium Health boasts a Comprehensive Stroke Center, along with a large and growing network.  The growing academic department with the new Wake Forest University School of Medicine Charlotte campus and Neurology Residency programs brings exciting opportunities for those interested in innovative patient care, teaching and research. 

This position includes an opportunity to join a group of 20+ neurohospitalist physicians, 10 advanced practice providers, and a multidisciplinary stroke network care team.  

Highlights

·       7 on 7 off/12-hour rotating shifts with no call requirement.

·        Excellent clinical resources including dedicated stroke coordinators, navigators, and our unique telestroke nursing program.

·        In addition to inpatient rounding-Virtual tele neurology and Telestroke for Atrium community hospitals is required.  

·         Academic appointment through Wake Forest University School of Medicine with requirement for teaching medical students.

·         Close partnership with neuroradiology, stroke interventionalists, neurosurgery, and neurocritical care.

·        Optional work in outpatient Stroke clinic with residents for interest candidates.




Training and/or Experience Required
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Neurology Residency
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Vascular Neurology Fellowship 
  • Participation in Tele-stroke and Tele-Neurology support
  • Expectation for Board Certification in Neurology and Vascular Neurology
